He's called Itsuki's phone ahead of time to speak to her and tell her that he's coming along, but their conversation didn't last long and it was more than a little strained. Which he guesses he can't blame her for.

Suffice it to say that his nerves are now a lot more frazzled than they've been in a while. Monsters? No problem. Overthrowing dictatorships, stopping wars, saving as many lives as he can? He's your man. But domesticity - he hasn't been able to manage domesticity properly since he regenerated into his ninth incarnation. He tries, but it's difficult, and this little incident has just proved why.

Bugger this. He stands in a corridor in Itsuki's house and rubs his hands over his face before he knocks on the door of the living room, where he's been told Haruhi is.]
