I think I've got something that you lot... really should know.

[Aaaaaand the TARDIS stops moving.]

Well. We've arrived.

[lets go of whatever she had grabbed hold of and walks up to the door]

Can you bring me to him?

[Nods and joins her, pulling on his long coat]

Of course. let me just check I've got my psychic paper on me... [Pulls out his wallet.] Alright then, all set!

[Aaand pulls the door open to reveal a bustling room in which the first impression is mainly... white. White floors, white ceilings, white walls. A few people in uniform, not all of them human, walk around consulting clipboards, while a humanoid cat sits behind a receptionist's desk.]

[She looks around in awe as she's never really seen... well... put bluntly, aliens. Almost unconsciously, she sticks a little closer to Ten's side.]

[Looks at her and smiles.] Don't worry, they're friendly. This is the year 6543, the beginning of the height of the Third Great and Bountiful Human Empire. They're all about working with aliens at this time. Come on.

[He strides over to the reception desk and clear his throat; the receptionist looks up politely.] Erm, hi! I was here yesterday. If you wouldn't mind, is it alright for us to visit Lockon Stratos now? I've got ID.

[He flashes the psychic paper; if Feldt gets a look at it she'll see an official-looking badge that says Ten is the President of New Mercury. The receptionist smiles again, showing all her sharp teeth and speaks.]

Certainly, Mr. President. They've moved him into room 607 on the tenth floor.

[Indeed, she looked around to get a look at the paper and shot him a quizzical glance before looking at the receptionist again.]

[Ten gives the receptionist a cheery wave as he walks off.] Okay, thanks, we'll make our own way from here.

[As he makes his way over to a nearby lift, he looks at Feldt and explains, showing her the now-blank paper.] The paper's slightly psychic, shows you whatever I want you to see. Good for when you need to get somewhere in an emergency.

[She nodded once to show her understanding, the amazement of it all still not worn off even as they waited for the lift to come down.]

[When the lift came down, he stepped in and pressed the button for the tenth floor.]

Sorry, I keep forgetting you're new to all this.

It's alright, it doesn't matter.

[She stared down at her feet.]

[The lift is playing typical lift-music. Ten moved up and down on the balls of his feet while he waited. There was a pretty impressive red mark coming up on his face by this point, but he hadn't noticed yet.

Finally, the lift doors opened with a beep and an automated voice intoning "Tenth Floor. Private rooms and ICU."]

[She stays quiet the whole ride up and starts looking for the right direction once out of the lift. The receptionist had said room 607, right?]

[He steps out with her and starts consulting a board on the wall.]

Hmm. It's this way. [Points to the right.] D'you want me to wait outside?

You can if you want.

[It didn't matter to her right then. She walks down the hall and opens the door to his room. All she can hear are the various monitors and machines hooked up to him as she moves silently over to his bedside. Her eyes started welling up again as she placed her hands on the edge of his bed.]

Lockon....

[And that's all it takes before she starts sobbing and drops down to her knees.]

[He doesn't want to pry, or intrude, not any more than he has already. But he can't stand listening to her cry like that. Irrational or not, he feels at least somewhat responsible for it. So he quietly enters the room and puts a hand on her shoulder in an attempt to give a little comfort.]

[She looks up, sniffling, tears still rolling down her face. She looks unsure of what to do before she stands up and clings on to him and starts crying all over again.]

[He blinks in surprise but hugging people comes easily to him. So he stands there and hugs her, rubbing her back soothingly every so often, but not saying anything. Just letting her cry.]

[After some time, she finally stops crying. She turns her head to look back at Lockon and leans against Ten, still holding onto him.]

You said he'll wake up after a month or so, right? Can I keep visiting him until then?

[She sounds fairly calm again with the occasional sniffling.]

[He nods.]

Of course, as often as you like. I don't mind playing taxi.

Thank you.

[A smile flickers on her face as she looks up at him and the separates herself to go back to Lockon's bedside.]

Next time I come, I'll bring Haro too.

[He smiles a little wider.]

I'm sure he'll like that.

[Almost tentatively, she reaches out a hand and let it hover over his head for a few seconds before lightly pushing some stray strands of hair out of his face. Then she turned back to the Doctor.]

I think I'm ready to go now.

[He nods, pushing his hands into his coat pockets.]

You sure? I don't mind hanging around if you want a few more minutes.

It's alright. I know I can come back and talk with him more later. For now, it's enough to see that he's alive.

[She takes one last look back and smiles slightly when she turns her head back.]

Alright then, always moving on. Off we go, then.

[He smiles slightly and leads the way out of the room and back towards the lift, pushing the call button as soon as he gets there.]
