[Realises that getting her to let go of him will be a losing battle and so slowly reaches over to open the drawer and fetch the painkillers with one hand, propelling himself back upright with the small bottle in his hand.]

[Looking at the back of them] Remind me how old you are?

[blinks a few times]

I'm...

[pauses with a vacant stare]

What did you ask?

[Oh bugger D:]

"How old you are, Haruhi."

I'm...

[still seems to be confused.]

[Tipping two painkillers out into his hand]

Your age. [Looks around for a glass of water but, oh bugger, there isn't one D8]

... Bugger. No water.

Oh.

...My head hurts and I feel sick.

I know, that's what the painkillers are for.

[Pause] ... Haruhi, I'm going to have to get up to see if there's any water in here to help you swallow them, okay?

[mumbles but she still looks rather confused]

Okay.

[Gently disentangles himself from Haruhi, gets up and crosses over to the fridge/freezer again, finding a bottle of water tucked into the fridge - thank goodness for the TARDIS being herself. He quickly returns and sits back down, unscrewing the cap off the water as he goes.]

Right. Drink a bit of this, okay? Then we can get those painkillers down your neck.

[turns away from him and starts throwing up in the trashcan near the bed]

[Looks at her worriedly and holds her hair back with one hand, gently rubbing her back with the other]

[when she's finished she rests her forehead against the bed, still shaking violently]

My head hurts.

[Comes close to her and puts an arm around her, offering her the water.]

I know, that's what the painkillers are for, but they're no use if you don't take them.

[takes the water and struggles to drink it, her hands are shaking so much it's difficult]

They'll make me feel better?

[Helps her a little and holds out the pills]

They'll stop your head hurting, yeah.

[takes the pills and swallows them shakily, trying not to gag]

[Holds her close after she's swallowed them]

They'll take a while to work, so. Make sure you drink more if you feel like it.

[snuggles against his chest]

...I want my kitty.

Hmm?

[Trying to remember if she means a doll or a real cat, GJ Ten]

[slurred]

M'kitty. He's shtuffed.

... Oh, that kitty. [Pause] ... He was in your room, wasn't he?

[quietly]

Mmm.

Shall we go there, then? The bed's comfier, for a start.
