[OOC: Long and Rambling Series 4 planning post - HEAVY SPOILERS WITHIN.]
HELLO, DOCTOR WHO MUNS~!
Now that I have your attention with the bright pink hugetext, I thought now would be a good time to plan how the hell we’re going to work through season 4.
Obviously we’ve got some heavy DDD-wrought changes to canon to figure out, and I know that not all of you have seen the finale or other episodes of the season yet, so this be the Season 4 Planning Post where we can figure all this out and get any and all questions asked. OTHERWISE, PLEASE BE DIRECTING YOURSELVES TO WIKIPEDIA FOR EPISODE EXPLANATIONS, IT EXPLAINS THE BASIC PLOT BETTER THAN I.
I figure that our main problems are
A) The fact that the Master is alive,
B) The fact that we has a Nine, and
C) The fact that I have absolutely no idea if our Rose-mun will be around for this plot.
We can sort of easily get around these three problems, I think, up to the 3 finale episodes, and then things start to get extremely complicated, especially with the last two (and taking into account the DDD canon we had going on with Nine/Rose and to a lesser extent Ten/Master.) Of course, any input from any of you guys onto how we should tackle these three problems would be greatly appreciated!
So: the tentative plan is to start moving through season 4 canon at around the beginning of September, with an aim to finish the series by Christmas at the latest. All the episodes from 1 to 10 can just be mentioned in passing once we’ve decided whenabouts they’re happening (though if you want your characters to make a post about the eps themselves, feel free – I’m thinking of Lucy especially as some of the eps take place on Earth and there’s stuff she might want to note!) I know that I’ll be making some for Ten, on and off.
If we don’t get a Donna before or during this time, I’m thinking about asking the mods permission to occasionally NPC her (in the case of any voice posts or the like), if that’s ok with you guys.
NOW: Episodes 11, 12, and 13. I was thinking of including the community in on these in a sort of event.
In episode 11, some creepy fortune teller woman makes Donna change a choice she made (Turning right instead of left, of all things) that basically causes her universe to be kinda fucked. Also, due to this choice, Ten is pretty much dead in this alternate universe, and Davros’ plan from eps 12 and 13 is able to start going through. SO, for this episode, I was thinking maybe asking the muns if it’s a good idea for the community members to completely forget that they ever met Ten, because in the alternate universe he died before he ever joined the community. If this is too complicated we can drop it and just use the 12 and 13 idea, which is the part which would be more fun anyway. 8D
In 12 and 13, Davros’ plan is essentially to destroy all the worlds using this Reality Bomb of his, which basically dissolves matter, for want of a better word. It would basically destroy all the planets and stars in Ten’s universe at first, then move onto breaking down the barriers between worlds and start destroying other worlds.
Of course, in the show, they put a stop to this before it could ever really get going, but where’s the fun in that? I was thinking about proposing an event to the OOC comm, to take place whenever we do the finale, in which characters notice that the stars are starting to go out in their worlds, maybe some worlds even disappear for the duration of the event, IDK. [This would depend on whether or not people even want to take part, of course… ^^;]
I’m not sure yet how any worlds that did disappear would come back yet – perhaps a combination of the fact that the Medusa Cascade was a second out of sync with the rest of the universe, and also maybe that Donna, Ten and Ten.5 started sending the 27 planets powering the device home before the Reality Bomb could complete the deletion of the worlds.
Also, DDD is just DDD. THIS IS WHY I NEED YOU GUYS TO HELP ME FINE-TUNE THESE IDEAS, WOE.
So…. What do we think? Plausible? Plausible with a little tweaking? Or should I just gtfo?

From another perspective, we're hopefully going to start moving the Gundam canon along, and as you know, that's going to end up intersecting with this. To put it in a not too sensible way, at what point in DW canon is Gundam canon going to turn up? In between episodes, or post-season?
I like the 12 and 13 idea. As for 11, yyy forgetting the Doctor, and also for adjusting things accordingly. So, for example, if anyone has been saved by the Doctor, (maybe like with what happened with the Master!plot), they would have to play dead, or whatever. (Which is why the question above is relevant, lol.)

Um. I suppose that all depends on when exactly certain things happen in each canon. XD; Like I said, I want to try to get Partners in Crime happening at the beginning of September, and assuming anything from a few days to a couple of weeks between episodes (plus condensing the two-parters into one event), it really could depend. Gah, I don't know. I'll try and get a rough timeline done in the next couple of days if that'll help?
... Oh God, I just thought - Jordan would be so screwed then, Ten's saved his ass at least 3 times now. And I like the playing dead idea, I'm just. Not sure how other muns would take it. XD (Hence why I'm planning this so far in advance, ahahahha. ^^;)
Oh, I just thought! With the 12 and 13 idea, in DW canon people were noticing things like the bees disappearing heralding the coming of the reality bomb and the like - could stuff like that happen in other worlds in the build up to the event as well?
