[RL - Haruhi; Lockon later on - ... and sometimes, everybody lives.]
((Just setting this up now so we can get the ball rolling, albeit at a nice steady pace. :3))
[The Doctor was sitting in the TARDIS. Not to go anywhere - the TARDIS was staying safely parked in Haruhi's living room until everybody was properly ready for another adventure. After all the recent hijinks, even he was feeling the strain.
No, the Doctor was in here to think, leaned back in the pilot's seat with a faraway, odd expression on his face. Now that everything had calmed down, he'd been doing quite a bit of thinking, and the TARDIS was the best place to do it. Nice and quiet.
You see, to the Doctor's mind, there was a certain something that... wasn't quite adding up. And it was niggling at his mind. Not just a discrepancy of logic, but a discrepancy of time. An ever so small one, small enough that a distracted enough mind would miss it. And he'd certainly been distracted enough.
But where? He'd had an idea, asked Feldt if he could borrow Haro and review the tapes from... from before the rescue. It had taken a bit of persuasive talk, but he'd finally got a look at them. And something... was definitely off. But what? What was it?
He'd been in here for quite some time, and he wasn't moving anytime soon. If he kept this up, people were probably going to start wondering where he was. But the problem was annoying him, so in here he would stay until someone startled him out of his reverie.]

Alright Haruhi, on my signal! Five... four... three... two... one... okay, do it, let go!

Lockon had accepted the fact he was dying, and this wasn't his fight anymore. He'd done what he'd set out to do, and he'd gone out fighting. The larger job was up to the other three, now. They were like him, they wanted to bring the world to this ideal, but the rest of humanity...he began to speak aloud, without even concious thought. Between deep, wracking breaths with too-little oxygen,]
You guys...are you satisfied..? With... [And then the world begins to shimmer out of sight, along with the tiny green speck that is Setsuna, derailing his thoughts - and instead he's seeing flashes of...of somewhere that he recognises, but can't quite place right now.] Wha?
[When the fading begins to solidify, realisation dawns - the TARDIS? He has just enough time to think This is a really weird hallucination to die on before he feels the floor of the TARDIS underneath him and the gravity hits - and then the pain that was at the edges of his conciousness doubles and bites back at full force and he can't help but flinch away from the floor - which doesn't help the broken ribs not hurt - and cry out in pain.]

[Haruhi stumbles towards the young man who just appeared on the floor of the TARDIS, still only half accepting that he was truly with her again. She reaches him and takes the sides of his helmet, cringing at the blood, and pulls it off to confirm it's her brother.]
Oniichan...
[Yep, it's him and she just can't keep the tears from coming her eyes. She uses all her strength to lift up his torso and cradles him like she did to Setsuna a few weeks before. Not giving a damn if she gets all bloody as she strokes his hair]
We have you, it's all going to be alright now. We have you.

[Then he's all business again, rushing to Lockon's side with Haruhi and digging in his pockets for the sonic screwdriver.] Oh Lockon. I'm sorry, I am so sorry.
[Immediately he flicks the screwdriver to a setting he's been using too often lately, the diagnosis setting, and sets to work. They're not out of the woods yet.]

He's hurting! Do something!
[she turns back to Lockon and gently places a kiss on his forehead. She was pretty sure he couldn't hear or understand her but she was going to keep talking even just for her own comfort]
It's gonna be okay.
[she rests her forehead against his and speaks quietly to him, tears running down her face] I promise you, it's all going to be okay. We'll make it all stop and then you can go find Tieria and Setsuna and Feldt and show them you're okay and then we'll all be happy and everything will be alright.
[she moves her hand from stroking his hair and grips his hand]
We're going to be okay.

[His face as he completes the scan looks serious. More than serious, worried. Incredibly worried. Multiple burns, fractures, damage to his organs, oh this is so not good in so many ways... He jumps up, tucking the screwdriver back in his pocket, and rushes to the console.]
We need to get him to a hospital. Don't move him yet, it'll just make things worse. [He twists a few buttons and looks over his shoulder at Haruhi.] Keep talking to him.

[Hoarsely] Amy...
no subject
No, no, no. Haruhi, I'm Haruhi. Don't you know me?
no subject
Haruhi, what is it? What's wrong?
[Suddenly the entire TARDIS shakes and his attention is momentarily distracted as sparks fly off the console and he brings his ship back under control.]
no subject
Got him... I got him, Amy. 'venged you...
[coughs, and more blood joins what's already on his face.]
no subject
No! I am not Amy! I'm Haruhi!
no subject
Haruhi, he doesn't know what he's saying, I'm amazed that he can even see at the minute. [Frowns as he looks at that blood] Maybe I should knock him out before he does any more damage...
[Whether that meant to himself or to Haruhi was debatable. Probably both.]

And immediately, he springs into action again, heaving a heavy sigh before speaking.]
Right. We need to get him moved, but we can't do that on our own, we'll just make things worse. One of us'll need to go in and get help. If I've done this right, we should be parked right in the middle of the reception as it is, anyway...
[He's digging the psychic paper out as he speaks.]

Right, I'll go then. [He waves the psychic paper as he springs to his feet and heads for the door.] This'll get us past all those pesky queues and things in no time. I'll be 2 minutes tops.
[Without waiting for an answer - time is of the essence - he rushes out of the TARDIS, and true to his words, it's no more than 2 minutes or so before he throws the doors open again, looking slightly hassled and talking quickly to two humanoid people in white uniforms who are wheeling a stretcher up the ramp into the control room. He runs ahead of them and kneels down next to Haruhi, reaching out a hand to squeeze her shoulder.]
It'll be okay, I promise. [He lowers his voice so that only she can hear it.] These people think I'm the President of New Mercury, so there won't be any trouble with making sure he gets looked after.
no subject
I just got him back, I don't want to lose him so quickly again.
no subject
I know you don't. But if we don't let him get help then that's what'll happen. [In a low, conspiratorial voice again] Besides, they're not going to deny visiting rights to the President of New Mercury's daughter, are they?
no subject
I-I'm going to leave you for...for awhile, but I'll be back...with you soon.
no subject
[They clearly want her to move out the way so they can get on with their work.]
