[The Doctor ran as fast as his legs could carry him through the corridors of the TARDIS, panting in his hurry to get to Haruhi. Omega, he was so worried about her. As if Lockon wasn't enough - enough for all of them - Haruhi was still sick, and all this stress couldn't be good for her fighting off the infection that was still stubbornly clinging to her system. That sound... that hadn't sounded good.

Damn it. He wished this would stop happening. Or at least stop happening all at once. Haruhi could yell at him or cling to him, whatever, but he was sick of seeing her so sad. That was happening far too often lately.

He tore around the last corner and burst into her room, wild-eyed.]

Haruhi?

[takes his hand and stumbles behind him]

Wish he were here.

[Just... nods grimly and leads her towards the little TARDIS medical bay.]

[sniffles and coughs slightly, wishing she had her panda]

[Aaaand into the medical bay we go. He sits her down on the bed and fetches a damp cloth so he can start cleaning her up first]

[sits quietly for probably once in her life as she lets him clean her up]

[Finishes cleaning her up and hoys the cloth into a nearby laundry bin before dashing over to a nearby cupboard]

I'm sure I had a scanner of some sort in here somewhere...

[curls up against the wall]

[Finds a small scanner - which sort of looks like an extension of the TARDIS, all coral and organic looking - and brings it over.]

Right, lie down so I can give you a quick once-over with this, just to check what's going on.

[lies down, very stiff and uncomfortable]

[timey_wimey]

[Switches the scanner on and presses a few buttons, zapping it with the sonic screwdriver once or twice before he passes it over her from head to toe, a few centimetres away from her body.]

Okay, let's see what this says then. [Plonks himself down on the bed and starts studying the thing with a serious expression.]

I hate this. I'm so tired of being sick...and weak.

[timey_wimey]

[Flippantly] Well, the answer to that is to take better care of yourself. [Pause, then more seriously:] And you're not weak, Haruhi, you're one of the strongest people I know.

[The scanner beeps and he looks at it] Hmm. Oh. [His face falls] Oh dear.

[turns away] I am, if I were stronger I could deal with this.

...[dully] What is it?

[timey_wimey]

[Firmly] You are dealing with it.

... If what this thing is telling me is right, you're actually coughing this blood up. Which isn't good. [Thinks for a moment.] Hang on a sec, I might have something that can deal with it.

[Aaaaand jumps over to the nearest cupboard and starts rummaging around inside it~]

[curls up into a small ball as if she's about to sleep]

[Tosses out several things, including what looks like one of Nine's old jumpers, before he comes out with a little blue box of pills and straightens up, sitting back down on the bed again.]

These aren't exactly a cure but they'll solve it for now until we figure out what we're gonna do. [Unscrews the lid and peers inside before tipping out a couple of pills - they look a little like smarties. Only not.]

What are they? Will they make me sick?

It's something I got as a gift for doing a favour, once. Long time ago now. But they'll hold off the worst of what's wrong with you until we can fix you up properly. And no, they won't make you sick, promise.

[Holds her for a little longer.]

[Abruptly] Are you gonna take these or what? They don't work by themselves, you know.
