[Ten is, to put it lightly, completely and utterly fed up at the moment - with the universe at large, yes, but mostly with himself for being a prize idiot. He's called Itsuki's phone ahead of time to speak to her and tell her that he's coming along, but their conversation didn't last long and it was more than a little strained. Which he guesses he can't blame her for.

At all, in fact.

Suffice it to say that his nerves are now a lot more frazzled than they've been in a while. Monsters? No problem. Overthrowing dictatorships, stopping wars, saving as many lives as he can? He's your man. But domesticity - he hasn't been able to manage domesticity properly since he regenerated into his ninth incarnation. He tries, but it's difficult, and this little incident has just proved why.

Bugger this. He stands in a corridor in Itsuki's house and rubs his hands over his face before he knocks on the door of the living room, where he's been told Haruhi is.]

[Prods her, pouting a little, and returns to perusing the ice cream selection.]

"How about a sundae? Sundaes are interesting."

[leans against him and makes him wrap his arms around her]

Sundae it is then!

[He is completely happy with this arrangement, really.]

"Alright then!" [To the guy behind the counter] "Two sundaes, then, please!"

[The guy behind the counter looks at Haruhi as if he's about to say something about demanding kids but thinks better of it when he sees her expression. As well he should. He contents himself with a scowl and gives them both their sundaes after a few minutes, shuffling back off to the back of the shop when Ten hands over the money.

Ten just makes a face as they make their way to a table~] "Hmm. You just can't get the staff these days..."

[Lets her and starts eating his sundae thoughtfully.]

"Mmm, probably."

[eats slowly, mostly snuggling against his chest and enjoying that]

[Ten, meanwhile, has that expression on his face that suggests that he's about to launch into a completely rambling train of thought out loud.]

"You know, I've always wondered why they call them sundaes. I mean, of all the names to possibly give an ice cream, why a sundae? Yeah, I suppose Sunday is the nicest day, day of rest and all that. But it's a bit boring. I can't think why you'd want to name an ice cream like this after a day like that. Now, Saturdays on the other hand - now, there's a day."

[He could go on all day about this, really, if Haruhi doesn't stop him. XD]

[ZONING OFF IN UR LAP NAO. It's not worth the fight to tell him to hush, and plus she's missed his ramblings, just a bit]

[Meanwhile, has been rambling continuously for the past few minutes and is now on a completely different subject]

"... and then on a planet in the Dustijeck nebula whose name eludes me completely right now, they've actually abolished Mondays. Of course, that backfired on them because they have Tuesday morning feelings instead -"

[Looks down at her.] "... Are you asleep, Haruhi?"
