Oh hey Doctor. Edgeworth mentioned you to me, yeah. So you got my email, then?

Edgeworth said you might be willing to give me a hand with this...

That I did. And I admit, you've got me interested. I'm not one to stand for torture once it's grabbed my notice, especially when it's just done to get someone's attention.

That, and I know how dangerous some of the people on here can be, so I'd like to make sure as few people get hurt during this mess as possible.

It's gotten pretty big, to be honest... [he gives a soft laugh] Bigger than I expected when I first decided to do something about it. Looks like the people of the community are tired of being terrorized, too.

But I don't want anyone to get hurt, either. I just want Xanxus to know there are consequences.

Can I ask what you're able to do? As far as powers and things... Edgeworth didn't tell me more than your name.

Oh, consequences I can agree with. Although I'm curious to know about what you plan to do with him if you catch him. Hand him over to the police on his world, or something else?

Me? Well, I'm not as impressive as some of the others on here, at least, not when it comes to stuff like shooting fire out of my hands with my mind. All I've got is my brain, a sonic screwdriver, and a lot of experience with dealing with alien wrongdoers.

I think it'll depend on the circumstances, but I think that's the best way to deal with it, yes. It's their world, and we don't have a jail here that can deal with a firestarter.

Experience is the one thing that I've been lacking. I've got a lot of powerful people willing to help, but I don't really have experience with dealing with powers or magic.

No, I imagine not... if you're from Edgeworth's world, it's pretty normal over there, not much in the way of extraordinary abilities at all, really. [Beat.] Well, apart from the odd spirit medium, but that's different, every world has a few of those hanging around. Alright. I'm willing to help you out. What information do you have about this Xanxus already?

Yeah, I'm from Edgeworth's world. Spirit mediums...well, whatever.

Thanks for the help, Doctor. I can tell you that Xanxus is the head of a group of assassins called the Varia - quite a lot like a specialized mafia group, but with powers added. He can shoot fire out of his fingertips, and apparently has a liger he can control, too. One of his people, Squalo, is on here, too. He claims to be able to summon a shark, though I dunno how much use that'd be on land.

He could have as many as a hundred men at his disposal, heavily armed, and with powers of their own. I don't know how many of his men are just cannon fodder, and how many are the elite with the abilities.

[There's a few seconds silence while he processes this, then:] So really, we're still lacking quite a bit of information here, especially when it comes to who can do what. But that's okay, I like thinking on my feet, although I suppose what we could really do with before anything else is some sort of reconnaissance trip to see if there's anything else that can be found out.

Yeah, one of the big things we really don't know is exactly where the Varia mansion is. I know where Xanxus' bar is, and I'm reasonably confident we can find the place, but it'd be good to be able to head there directly.

Well, there's always the TARDIS.

[In a tone that suggests that it should be obvious] Yeah!

Well, no one told me that. Uh, so how many people can it carry? Could you bring along some extra people? I was thinking... Xanxus might let me come to him, but find a way to capture us. It'd be good to have some cavalry who could track my phone and come in if we need it.

As many people as you want and then some. Well, within reason anyway. Either way, getting people in and out of that place would be fairly simple with the old girl.

Well, that solves a big problem, then. Then you'll follow us when we go in, and if things get really too hot, go in after us to get us out.

Well, it sounds like a plan. Probably the best one we've got, in the circumstances... oh, you'll want some way of keeping in touch just in case they take your phone. You know, just in case.

Right. Well, I was thinking of wearing a wire or something. But I guess you've got a better idea?

Well, a wire's still a good idea, and honestly the more fail-safes we have, the better, but I could always get together something with a perception filter on it for you. Means no one'll notice it unless they're already aware of it or you draw attention to it, which could come in handy.

...That sounds handy. Sure, I wouldn't say no to having something like that.

Thought you wouldn't. Right, I'll make something up, then.
